Why Learn from a Neurosurgery Resident?

The same precision, discipline, and analytical thinking required for neurosurgery is what will set you apart on the MCAT.

About Your Instructor

I'm Ari J Williams, MD, currently in my third year of neurosurgery residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. I scored 518 on the MCAT (96th percentile) in 2018 and graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine.

Neurosurgery residency is one of the most competitive specialties in medicine, requiring not just medical knowledge but exceptional critical thinking, pattern recognition, and decision-making under pressure—the exact skills tested on the MCAT.

My teaching philosophy: I don't teach you to memorize facts; I teach you to think like a physician. Understanding core concepts and underlying processes is what separates good MCAT scores from great ones.

🎯

Proven MCAT Excellence

518 MCAT score (96th percentile, top 4% of all test-takers). I've mastered the exam and understand exactly what separates good scores from exceptional ones. Learn the strategies that actually work.

👥

Small Group Learning

Groups of 2-4 students create the perfect balance: personalized attention for your specific needs while benefiting from others' questions and perspectives. More effective than large classes, more affordable than pure one-on-one.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I start MCAT prep?
Ideally 3-6 months before your test date. The Mastery Package (40 hours) is perfect for students with 4-6 months to prepare. If you have less time, the Elite Package provides intensive preparation. If you're just starting to explore, the Foundation Package is a great introduction.
Do you guarantee a specific MCAT score?
No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Your MCAT score depends on many factors: your effort, study time outside sessions, prior preparation, and test-taking ability. What I DO guarantee: high-quality instruction, personalized strategies, honest feedback, and my full expertise in every session.
Are sessions online or in-person?
Sessions are primarily online via Zoom or Google Meet, which allows for flexible scheduling, screen sharing for visual explanations, and digital whiteboard collaboration. In-person sessions may be available in the Kansas City area—contact me to discuss.
What materials do I need?
You'll need AAMC Official Prep Materials ($269), Kaplan or Princeton Review MCAT books ($80-250 depending on new vs. used), and access to Khan Academy MCAT resources (free). I'll provide supplemental materials, practice problems, and study guides as part of your package. Total materials investment: approximately $350-500.
What's your cancellation policy?
I require 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. With 24+ hours notice, you can reschedule at no charge (up to 2 times per package). Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) forfeit that session. This policy protects everyone's time and maintains group continuity. Emergency exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis.
Can I get a refund if I need to stop early?
Yes, with our Fair But Firm policy: Completed sessions are non-refundable (you're paying for my time and expertise). Unused sessions are refundable if requested within 90 days, calculated as (unused sessions × per-session rate) minus $50 administrative fee. No refunds after completing 50% of your package. Emergency exceptions may apply.
How do I know which package is right for me?
Schedule a free 30-minute consultation! We'll discuss your timeline, target score, current preparation level, and learning needs. I'll recommend the package that best fits your situation. Most students with 4-6 months choose the Mastery Package for comprehensive preparation and the best value.
